Employees of Cyprea protested in front of the company's headquarters on Wednesday after not receiving their salaries for over six months.

The demonstration included both domestic and foreign workers, who voiced their frustrations over unpaid wages.

According to the employees, 53 workers have not been paid for nearly eight months, and all have been laid off.

One Cyprea employee shared with the media that he has been unable to pay his rent for about eight months due to the lack of salary.

What is our right? For eight months we have worked hard for something. Not for free. We will fight for our rights and we will go wherever we have to go,

he stated

Another employee mentioned that the strike was a result of the company's lack of cooperation and failure to meet their essential needs.

He noted that he had not been paid for three months and was promised a Ramadan allowance, which was only disbursed at the end of the month.

Additionally, ten employees eligible for the fasting allowance did not receive it.

The foreign employees also faced significant hardships, with unpaid rent for their accommodation leading to potential evictions.

One foreign worker expressed that he struggled to support his family and could not afford basic necessities like wheat and flour due to the salary delays.

The employees criticized the layoffs as arbitrary and demanded accountability from the company's officials.

Despite repeated attempts to communicate with Cyprea's management, the workers remained uncertain about when they would be paid.

Cyprea has not responded to requests for comment.
