American Center in the Maldives has announced that NASA's former astronaut Heidimarie Stefanyshyn Piper would be visiting the Maldives. 

According to the announcement made by the American Center, it stated that a meet and greet session would take place at the National Museum on October 8, 2022, between10:40hrs till noon.

Registration is now open until October 7 till 1500 hrs.

Stefanyshyn was selected as an astronaut in 1996. She completed two space walks in 2006 and 2008.  She has also previously served in the navy as well. 

Heidemarie Martha Stefanyshyn-Piper is a former NASA astronaut and Naval officer. Stefanyshyn-Piper has received numerous honours and awards.

She has flown on two Space Shuttle missions, STS-115 and STS-126, during which she completed five spacewalks totalling 33 hours and 42 minutes.
