Kuwait Airways resumes flights to the Maldives

Kuwait Airways, the national airline of Kuwait, has resumed flights to Maldives.  

The COVID-19 pandemic forced Kuwait Airways to halt its Maldives flights. The airline began on Monday operating once more flights to the Maldives. The flight was welcomed upon arrival at Velana International Airport by Tourism Minister Dr Abdulla Mausoom and representatives from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) (VIA).

According to MACL, There will be two weekly flights by Kuwait Airways from Kuwait International Airport to Vellana International Airport and the Airline will employ A320 aircraft.

Kuwait is one of the most important source markets in the Middle East for Maldivian tourism. 6,309 visitors arrived in the Maldives from Kuwait as of October, up from 3,164 at the same time last year.
