Tourist couple honored for heroic rescue of drowning resort staff
A tourist couple on their honeymoon at the Dusit Thani Maldives resort in Baa Atoll have been hailed as heroes after saving a drowning resort employee who fell into the sea from the deck of a water villa.
Jordan Daniel Van Dyk and Daniel De Bruyne, commended by local authorities for their bravery and quick thinking, sprang into action when they witnessed the employee fall and drown on April 28th.
Top police officials from Baa Atoll, led by Baa Atoll Police Commander Afra Adam, visited the resort on Friday to present a token of appreciation to the couple for their courageous act.
The staff member was in a state of distress, struggling in the water. Despite the challenging circumstances, Mr. Van Dyk and Ms. De Bryun acted swiftly and courageously coming to the aid of the staff member,

In recognition of their bravery, Baa Atoll Police awarded the couple with a plaque of appreciation, emphasizing that their quick thinking prevented a tragic outcome.
