Zakat Fund to extends USD 100,000 aid to Gaza
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, revealed plans to allocate USD 100,000 from the Zakat Fund to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
This assistance will be facilitated through Qatar's Red Crescent, with whom the Zakat Fund has collaborated in the past for similar endeavors.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Shaheem outlined the allocation process, stating that the aid would be sent in two installments, primarily focusing on addressing the food needs of Gaza's populace.

The decision to extend aid to Gaza reflects a significant step for the Zakat Fund, marking its first endeavor to support individuals outside the Maldives.
Dr. Shaheem highlighted that this humanitarian effort aligns with the guidance of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The aid comes at a critical time as Gaza continues to endure the repercussions of Israel's attacks, which have resulted in numerous civilian casualties and displacements since October.
