President Dr. Muizzu hails growing trust in Singapore-Maldives ties on national day
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to deepening cooperation with Singapore, extending warm congratulations to its leadership and citizens on the occasion of Singapore’s National Day.
In a message addressed to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the government, and the people of Singapore, President Dr. Muizzu highlighted the strengthened diplomatic partnership between the two nations, describing it as one built on trust, understanding, and mutual benefit.

in a post shared on X, emphasising the tangible gains achieved in recent years through closer engagement.
President Muizzu also praised Singapore’s peace and prosperity as hallmarks of its progress and expressed hope for the continued advancement of these qualities, noting that the evolving relationship has yielded concrete benefits for both countries.
The message follows President Muizzu’s recent state visit to Singapore from 29 June to 2 July, undertaken at the invitation of President Shanmugaratnam.
The visit featured high-level discussions aimed at bolstering diplomatic and economic relations, and resulted in agreements in three key areas: capacity building, education, and environmental cooperation.
A highlight of the trip was the Maldives-Singapore Business Forum, which attracted over 200 business leaders from both nations.
The event provided a platform to present investment opportunities in the Maldives to Singaporean investors, further advancing the countries’ economic partnership.
President Muizzu has expressed confidence that the outcomes of his visit will further strengthen bilateral relations and deliver long-term benefits for both Maldivians and Singaporeans.
