Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Special Advisor to the President and candidate for the Laamu Fonadhoo constituency under the ruling party ticket, has raised objections against around 20 candidates participating in the upcoming Majlis Elections, stating that they are not suitable for parliamentary roles.
Speaking at the inauguration of his campaign office last night, Abdul Raheem emphasized the importance of learning from past experiences to shape a better future.
He highlighted the upcoming elections as a pivotal opportunity for the electorate and urged them not to squander it.
Referencing past instances where concerns raised by the opposition were disregarded, he warned against electing MPs who might not advocate for the people's interests.
Stressing the necessity of securing a parliamentary majority to pass crucial legislation, he asserted that only candidates prioritizing people's rights could effectively fulfill the administration's pledges.
