The handover ceremony, presided over by H.E Ambassador Wang Lixin, took place yesterday, underscoring the burgeoning partnership between the two nations.
The vehicles, symbolizing China's commitment to bolstering infrastructure and public services in the Maldives, were received by the Maldivian government.
Adam Shareef Umar, the Minister of Local Government and Public Works, accepted the donation on behalf of the Maldivian authorities.
Ambassador Wang Lixin expressed her confidence that these vehicles would significantly contribute to waste management and other public works across various cities in the Maldives, ultimately enhancing the nation's aesthetic appeal and quality of life.
This act of generosity follows a recent agreement between China and the Maldives, wherein China pledged to provide medical equipment to 19 islands under its free aid program.
The collaborative efforts between the two nations aim to improve healthcare accessibility and infrastructure in remote areas of the Maldives.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, China demonstrated its ongoing support by dispatching 1500 tonnes of water to the Maldives.
This generous gift, originating from the Xizang Autonomous Region, underscores China's commitment to assisting the Maldives in addressing pressing needs.
The series of aid initiatives from China exemplify the strong diplomatic ties and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
