'Savaadheetha Dhathuru' – Maldives Yacht Rally commences its oceanic voyage

 The Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) has set sail on the third edition of the Savaadheetha Dhathuru yacht rally, marking the beginning of an extraordinary 19-day journey across the azure seas of the Maldives. 
The launch event, graced by the esteemed Guest of Honor, Honorable Ibrahim Faisal, the Minister of Tourism, saw the ceremonial commencement of this highly anticipated maritime spectacle.

'Savaadheetha Dhathuru' stands as a premier sailing event organized by MITDC, inviting yachtsmen from around the globe to embark on a captivating voyage through the Maldives seas.

The rally encompasses visits to local islands, exploration of cultural heritage, and experiences at renowned dive sites and pristine sandbanks.

This year is particularly momentous as we celebrate the third edition of this prestigious event, a shining example of local island tourism, cultural and heritage enrichment, and nautical adventure

The Savaadheetha Dhathuru series serves as a beacon for international yacht rallies, orchestrated by MITDC to promote local tourism and showcase the Maldives' rich and ancient history, which spans over 2,000 years. 
The inaugural voyage took place in 2022, garnering attention for its unique blend of cultural exploration and maritime adventure.

Addressing the audience, Ms. Fathmath Thaufeeq, Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), underscored the commitment to promoting tourism and emphasized the importance of sustainability in the tourism industry.

Deputy Managing Director of MITDC, Mr. Nishwan Abbas, highlighted the culturally rich and diverse islands on the rally route, promising participants an immersive experience in the Maldives' unique charm.

The rally, spanning 19+ days with 10 islands and 7 anchor points, will take participants on a captivating journey starting from K.Kudagiri and progressing through V.Fulidhoo, M.Muli, L.Gan, L. Fonadhoo, L. Baresdhoo, GA. Kolamaafushi, GDh. Hoadehdhoo, S. Gan, and concluding at S. Hithadhoo.

With the official launch by Honorable Ibrahim Faisal, the Minister of Tourism, the Maldives Savaadheetha Dhathuru has embarked on its maritime odyssey, promising participants and spectators alike an unforgettable celebration of Maldivian culture, heritage, and the beauty of its seas.
