Presidential decision allows all applicants to compete in PPM/PNC coalition primary elections
President and PNC leader Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has made a decisive move, declaring that all individuals who submitted their names for the Parliamentary elections within the PPM/PNC coalition will now have the opportunity to compete in the primary.
This pivotal decision, aimed at addressing concerns and tensions arising from the exclusion of certain candidates who did not initially meet the criteria, was conveyed in a post made on X by PNC chairperson Abdul Raheem Abdullah.
Abdul Raheem Abdullah emphasized the President's commitment to inclusivity, stating that the decision to allow every candidate who expressed interest in the PPM/PNC coalition primary was made after a thorough review of complaints from individuals who were initially barred from participating due to failure to meet certain criteria.
Following a review of complaints from candidates who submitted their names but were not allowed to compete due to not meeting the criteria, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided that all those who submitted their names can now participate in the primary," declared Abdul Raheem Abdullah in the post on X
The move is seen as a response to the rising tensions caused by the exclusion of candidates who fell short of the specified criteria.
The decision ensures a fair and open primary process within the PPM/PNC coalition, fostering a democratic environment for all aspiring candidates.
The PPM/PNC primary is scheduled to take place on the 27th of this month, a Saturday.
