Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has categorically denied recent social media rumors alleging changes to employee salaries and benefits.

In a statement issued Sunday, the company labeled the claims as baseless and a deliberate attempt to create unrest within the organization, particularly as efforts intensify to operationalize the new terminal at Velana International Airport (VIA).

MACL clarified that there have been no discussions or decisions regarding revisions to employee compensation, nor are there any such plans in consideration.

The company stressed its firm commitment to upholding the current salary structures and benefits in line with established policies.

The company stated that those rumors are being spread with the intention of disrupting the dedicated work of our staff, who are working tirelessly to prepare for the opening of VIA’s new terminal, adding that such misinformation seeks to undermine trust within the workforce.

The company further emphasized that its employees are its most valuable resource, and assured that their welfare and professional security remain a top priority.

We remain dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of our employees

MACL affirmed in its statement.

Additionally, MACL urged individuals and groups responsible for circulating these unfounded claims to act responsibly and ensure that public discourse is grounded in truth.

The company highlighted that while freedom of expression is important, it must be exercised with integrity and respect for facts.

Concluding the statement, MACL expressed gratitude to all its employees for their unwavering dedication and highlighted their crucial contribution to one of the Maldives' most significant infrastructure projects.
