Indian PM Modi to embark on state visit to Maldives on July 25
Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to pay an official state visit to the Maldives from 25 to 26 July 2025, at the invitation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
This will be Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the Maldives since commencing his third term in office.
During the visit, President Dr. Muizzu and Prime Minister Modi will hold high-level discussions covering key bilateral and regional issues.
The two leaders will also inaugurate a number of joint projects and witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at advancing cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest.
The President’s Office stated that the visit carries added significance as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and India.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit is expected to further strengthen the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, particularly in areas such as infrastructure development, economic collaboration, and regional cooperation.
