Indian Ambassador to Maldives Munu Mahawar arrived at the Foreign Ministry today for a scheduled meeting, the Indian High Commission said.

In the wake of the tension between India and Maldives over the insult to India's Prime minister Narendra Modi,  reports said  that the Indian ambassador is being summoned to the Foreign Ministry.

However ,the Indian High Commission said in a post on X that the Ambassador was accompanied by Foreign Ministry Ambassador at Large Dr. Ali Naseer for a previously scheduled meeting.

The meeting also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

In the case of insulting Modi, Maldivian ambassador to India has been summoned to the Indian External Affairs Ministry today.

In connection with the insult to Modi, the deputy ministers involved in the case, Malsha Shareef, Maryam Shiuna and Abdullah Mahzoom Majid, were suspended yesterday.
