The campaign for the presidential candidate of PPM Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has officially been launched in all the atolls of Maldives.

Speaking about the campaign to 'Voice' PPM spokesperson Heena Waleed stated that the campaign includes activities such as door to door campaigns.

Heena highlighted that the campaign launched in 16 atolls yesterday but officially began today in all atolls of Maldives.

She further highlighted that the main campaign activity in Male' city was door to door campaigns and stated that there were plans for other campaign activities as well.

Regarding the campaign for President Yameen, PPM stated yesterday that campaign began in M, N, F, Dh, and L atoll. And that this campaign was started after a ceremony to mark the occasion.

Last week the official campaign for PPM was launched in Male' city in addition to Ha, Hdh, Sh, and Kulhudhuffushi city.

PPM stated that in the campaign for this year they were applying a decentralized system and has given decision making power to the people in the atolls.

These people include elected leaders of every constituency, youth leaders and women leaders.

The campaign manager for President Yameen Mohamed Amin stated that there is an emptiness due to the lack of opportunity for the PPM leader to be involved in the campaign practically.

However despite his imprisonment Amin stated that he was sure that President Yameen would be released after the High Court preceedings.
