We are fully against the 'India out' movement; we won't give in with the opposition; Democrats
The Democrats Party, established by individuals closely associated with President Mohamed Nasheed, has explicitly stated that it does not endorse the "India out" movement being propagated by the opposition PPM/PNC.
The PPM/PNC and the Democrats Party have initiated a collaborative effort aimed at ousting President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih from his presidency. Both parties have affirmed their commitment to employing all available means to effect a change in President Solih's leadership.
Discussion meetings pertaining to this matter have commenced, with three such meetings being held today. Hussain Amru, the former Managing Director of STO, spoke on behalf of the Democrats Party and emphasized that while the party is collaborating with the PPM/PNC, it does not endorse the "India out" movement.
While providing additional information to "Voice" regarding this matter, Amru asserted that the Democrats Party will not entertain any initiatives aimed at antagonizing any country. He emphasized that the party holds no animosity towards neighboring countries in particular.
Amru has consistently emphasized that despite their collaboration with the opposition, the Democrats Party will not lend any support whatsoever to the "India out" movement.
He has stated that the two parties have engaged in constructive dialogue to resolve their differences and move forward, but the Democrats Party remains resolute in its stance against the "India out" movement.
While Amru expressed his position, the PPM/PNC coalition has declared that they will continue with the "India out" movement and show no intention of ceasing its activities.
Mohamed Ismail, Chairman of the opposition PPM, has asserted that the efforts undertaken to repatriate the unauthorized presence of the Indian military in the Maldives are fully endorsed by the leadership of the opposition coalition.
He firmly stated that these activities will persist unabated, regardless of any attempts to halt them.
