President Dr. Muizzu launches ATM in Baa Hithaadhoo
Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially inaugurated a new ATM service in Baa atoll Hithaadhoo, marking another step in expanding nationwide banking access.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu personally launched the service during his visit to the island, making the first withdrawal from the machine before donating the ATM card to the Hithaadhoo Council.
According to BML, the Hithaadhoo ATM is the 44th installed across the country under the government’s initiative to provide ATMs in every inhabited island.
The facility will offer round-the-clock services, including cash withdrawals, deposits, money transfers, and other banking transactions.
BML confirmed that installation work for ATMs in 103 additional islands is already underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, fulfilling a presidential pledge made by President Dr. Muizzu.
