Last night, a ceremony was convened to officially present the nominated presidential ticket for the upcoming September 9th elections to Qasim Ibrahim, the esteemed leader of the Jumhooree Party (JP).

At the Alimas Carnival area in Malé, a ceremony was conducted wherein Ali Arif, the Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party and former Vaikaradhoo MP, formally presented the party's presidential ticket to Qasim. Additionally, a copy of the Maldives constitution was presented to him during the event.

Qasim expressed his commitment to creating a robust administration focused on enhancing education and expertise, surpassing any previous government, should he be elected as president. 

During the address, Qasim disclosed significant elements of the party's forthcoming presidential elections manifesto.

These initiatives encompass increasing the monthly allowance for senior citizens to MVR 7,000 and implementing a streamlined referral system for specialist doctors, ensuring prompt access within a seven-day timeframe. 

Additionally, Qasim vowed to foster the expansion of small businesses and facilitate the creation of 100 individuals attaining millionaire status over the course of his five-year tenure. 

Qasim further emphasized his unwavering dedication to establishing a government of utmost integrity, striving to elevate transparency and combat corruption, as exemplified by the target of augmenting the usable reserve to USD 1 billion.
