50 Maldivian civil servants depart for India for training program
A group of 50 civil servants from the Maldives have departed to India to participate in a training program.
The two-week training program has been arranged by the National Center for Good Governance (NCGG) in New Delhi, India, with the aim of providing Maldivian civil servants with training in various areas.
The program covers a range of topics, including India-Maldives relations, the changing paradigm of governance, ethical perspectives in governance, innovation in public administration, policies and practices related to gender and development, centralized public governance redressal and monitoring systems, public-private partnerships for infrastructure development, as well as public health behavior.
Moreover, the program covers additional topics such as MSME and SME, public contracts and policies, climate change and its impact on biodiversity, poverty eradication movements in India, skill development, laws related to the right to access information, anti-corruption strategies, vigilance administration, E-governance, digital India, E-digital governance, public service delivery, tax administration, digital governance, fintech and inclusion, stress management, as well as sanitary and public health behavior.
Participants of the program will also have the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world.
This training program is being conducted in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Civil Service Commission and NCGG in 2019. The MOU stipulated that 1000 civil servants would be trained in the field of administration over a period of five years.
According to the information provided by the Civil Service Commission, a total of 689 participants will complete the training program, which includes the 50 civil servants who have departed for India to participate in the current session.
