Officials noted that they are evaluating possible disruptions in international supply chains and logistics networks that could affect the import of essential items.

The Ministry further emphasized that it is actively identifying potential challenges to the markets and shipping routes from which the Maldives typically sources goods.

To mitigate these risks, officials are exploring and securing alternative markets to ensure a continuous supply of critical items.

The Economic Ministry assured citizens that the government’s primary objective is to maintain the security of food and essential commodities.

In collaboration with other government institutions and private sector partners, measures are being implemented to ensure uninterrupted stocks of vital goods and to address any challenges in the import process.
