Ministry of Gender and Family stated that they were closely monitoring the condition of the mother and her two children who were thrown out of their home. 

Pictures of a woman and her two children being thrown out of their home along with countless household goods has been circulating on social media.

According to information received on the case, the woman had been thrown out by her ex-husband. Despite their divorce, due to the woman not having any additional shelter, she had been living in a place provided by the ex-husband. Whilst living under his care, she had been faced with domestic abuse on multiple occasions.

Due to the picture being made public through social media, media had brought the incident to the attention of Gender ministry. Journalists had questioned the ministry about the actions taken to deal with an incident of this scale.

Responding to this, Gender ministry stated that an issue had been submitted to the ministry about a woman and two children being thrown out of where they were residing. 

Hence, due to the submission of the issue, gender ministry had checked the current living conditions as well as the state of the mother and her children. They also highlighted that they had provided the family with the required assistance.

In addition to this Gender ministry stated they had facilitated victims of domestic abuse to seek legal protection under the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act. They also stated that they had worked to provide legal protection for such victims on multiple occasions.
