Maldives-ITFC reaffirm partnership for development goals
The Chief Executive Officer of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), Eng. Adeeb Yousuf Al Aama, paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu this evening at Mulee’aage.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening economic cooperation, expanding trade development, supporting infrastructure projects, and advancing the Maldives’ national development goals.
Both sides concluded the meeting by reaffirming their shared commitment to deepening the longstanding and close relations between the Maldives and the ITFC.
The ITFC, a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, has been a key partner in financing trade and development projects across member countries.
The corporation has previously supported initiatives in infrastructure, energy, and economic diversification in the Maldives.
President Dr. Muizzu’s administration has prioritized strengthening ties with multilateral development institutions as part of efforts to mobilize financing for national development priorities, including infrastructure upgrades and private sector growth.
The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts to attract investment and development financing to support the government’s economic agenda, which emphasizes sustainable growth, job creation, and improved public services.
Officials from both sides attended the meeting, which underscored the continued importance of the Maldives’ partnership with the ITFC in supporting the country’s development trajectory.
