President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held a courtesy call with His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Minister of State, and Cabinet Member of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during the royal's official visit to the Maldives.

Prince Mansour is visiting the Maldives as the Guest of Honor for celebrations marking the 61st anniversary of the country's Independence Day.

He is representing His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of President Dr. Muizzu.

The meeting took place at the President's Office after Prince Mansour was accorded a ceremonial welcome.

He arrived at Velana International Airport, where he was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam and Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations Mohamed Naseer before being honored with a Guard of Honor by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

During the courtesy call, President Dr. Muizzu welcomed Prince Mansour and conveyed his appreciation to the Saudi leadership for accepting the invitation to participate in the Maldives' Independence Day celebrations.

The President also thanked Saudi Arabia for its continued support to the Maldives, particularly through the Makkah Route Initiative, which has significantly eased travel for Maldivian pilgrims.

The discussions centered on further strengthening the longstanding friendship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

Both sides explored opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, investment, and other areas of mutual interest while reaffirming their shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations built on mutual respect, shared values, and longstanding cooperation.

The high-level meeting underscored the close partnership between the two countries and their continued commitment to enhancing collaboration across a broad range of sectors.
