A man sustained injuries after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing a pedestrian crossing in Hulhumalé Phase II.

According to police, the incident occurred when a motorcycle travelling along Hithigas Magu in a north–south direction reportedly lost control before hitting the pedestrian as he was using a zebra crossing.

The accident was reported at 9:26pm.

The injured individual, a Maldivian man, suffered multiple injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Police confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the condition of the rider or any additional parties involved, and inquiries into the case are ongoing.
