Maldives-UK reaffirm partnership in law enforcement development
The Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to the Maldives, Mohammed Toafiq (Toff) Wahab, paid a courtesy call on Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between the Maldives and the United Kingdom, with discussions focusing on law enforcement cooperation, capacity building, and institutional development.
Officials explored opportunities to expand collaboration in key areas, including training programmes, technical assistance, and professional development initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Maldives Police Service.
Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed expressed appreciation for the United Kingdom’s continued support in strengthening policing capabilities and advancing the professional development of police officers.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of international partnerships in addressing modern security challenges and ensuring law enforcement agencies have access to the expertise and resources needed to improve service delivery.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation and exploring further opportunities to strengthen ties in areas of mutual interest.
