MMA extends registration deadline for Maldives Financial Expo
Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has extended the registration deadline for the upcoming Maldives Financial Expo, giving financial institutions additional time to secure participation in the event.
According to the central bank, the deadline has been moved from 1 June to 6 June.
The Maldives Financial Expo is scheduled to take place from 2 to 4 July at Hulhumalé Central Park.
The event is designed to promote greater public awareness of the financial sector while providing a platform for individuals to engage directly with banks, insurance providers, and other financial institutions.
Organisers say the expo will bring together key industry stakeholders to showcase products and services, strengthen consumer engagement, and highlight developments within the country's financial sector.
Alongside the expo, the MMA has launched the Maldives Financial Sector Awards, an initiative aimed at recognising outstanding contributions by financial institutions.
Applications for the awards will remain open until 28 June and can be submitted via the central bank's designated email channel.
Seven awards will be presented across areas identified by the MMA as strategic priorities, including financial inclusion, financial literacy, digital finance, services for small and medium-sized enterprises, and green finance.
The central bank said the awards programme is intended to encourage innovation, improve service quality, and promote wider access to financial services in line with international standards.
Winners of the inaugural awards are scheduled to be announced during a ceremony on 1 July, ahead of the opening of the Maldives Financial Expo.
