Maldivians granted 90-day visa free travel to Azerbaijan
Maldivian citizens can now travel to Azerbaijan without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, following the implementation of a mutual visa exemption agreement between Maldives and Azerbaijan.
The agreement, which came into effect today, expands visa-free access beyond its previous scope.
Earlier, only holders of Maldivian official and diplomatic passports were eligible for visa-free entry into Azerbaijan.
Under the new arrangement, all Maldivian passport holders can now enter and remain in Azerbaijan for up to 90 days from the date of arrival without requiring a visa.
The agreement also provides reciprocal benefits for Azerbaijani citizens traveling to the Maldives, allowing them similar visa-free access.
The move is expected to enhance bilateral relations by promoting greater cooperation in key sectors such as trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two countries.
However, travelers intending to stay in Azerbaijan beyond the 90-day limit will still be required to obtain the appropriate visa in accordance with immigration regulations.
