10 Ministers resign, President Dr. Muizzu expresses gratitude
The President's Office has confirmed that ten ministers have stepped down from their posts.
According to the President’s Office of the Maldives, the resignations were submitted to facilitate planned structural changes within the administration, aimed at ensuring the government remains responsive to public expectations.
The ministers who resigned include:
1. Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon: Minister of Defence
2. Dr. Abdulla Khaleel: Minister of Foreign Affairs
3. Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim: Minister of Health
4. Thoriq Ibrahim: Minister of Climate Change, Environmental and Energy
5. Dr. Aishath Shiham: Minister of Social and Family Development
6. Adam Nassir Ibrahim: Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage
7. Dr. Mariyam Mariya: Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
8. Ibrahim Waheed: Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts
9. Adam Shareef Umar: Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works
10. Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed:Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development
The President’s Office confirmed that President Dr. Muizzu has accepted all resignations.
In a statement, the President expressed appreciation for the contributions made by the outgoing ministers during their tenure.
