Two women sought over MVR 8,700 fraud, CCTV released
A local retail outlet, "New Edition", has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying two women allegedly involved in a fraudulent transaction exceeding MVR 8,700.
In a statement, the shop said the suspects obtained goods by presenting a counterfeit payment slip before leaving the premises with the items.
The total value of the merchandise taken has been estimated at MVR 8,788.29.
To support the investigation, the outlet has released snapshots of CCTV footage capturing the incident and the two women.
One of the individuals was seen wearing a face mask at the time, possibly in an attempt to conceal her identity.
The shop has urged anyone with information that could help identify the individuals to come forward and contact them at 7784250.
Additionally, New Edition has announced that a reward will be offered for verified information leading to the identification of the suspects.
