President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has described Bangladesh as a trusted neighbour and an important development partner of the Maldives, in a message marking Bangladesh’s Independence Day.

In a post shared on X, the President extended greetings to President Mohammed Shahabuddin, the Prime Minister, the government, and the people of Bangladesh, recognising the significance of the occasion.

President Dr. Muizzu noted that Bangladesh’s Independence Day represents a historic milestone that reflects the country’s sovereignty and its aspirations for a brighter future.

He expressed confidence that the occasion would continue to inspire the people of Bangladesh in their efforts towards national development and prosperity.

He also highlighted the strong and enduring relationship between the two countries, emphasising that close people-to-people connections have played a central role in strengthening bilateral ties.
