Outrage has sparked over people excluded in voter’s list voting in Ga. Villingili

An incident has become heated due to the issue that people not included in the voters list has voted in the ballot box placed in Ga. Villinigili, sparking protests form the citizens in that area.

It has also come to attention that the voting began in Ga. Villingilli without counting the voting papers and without publishing the list of voters. And that the voting booths are so high it is impossible to see the face of the voter clearly, enabling the voters to take pictures of the voting paper.

The candidate agent for MDP’s president Mohamed Nasheed, Hassan Latheef, has noted that complaints have been received regarding the issue of how the voters list with the officials at the polling stations, doesn’t line up with the lists that’s have been published.

In addition to this more issues have surfaced with the ongoing voting for the primary election such as the incident in L. Mundoo where voting began before the allocated time of 9am.

Meanwhile in Male’, voting for Addu city had been delayed till 10am due to the ballot box all the constituency of Addu being combined to one ballot box. Similarly in R. atoll another issue surfaced due to 3 of the atoll’s constituency being combined to the same ballot box.
