Foreign Ministry urges Maldivians in Middle East to exercise caution amid escalating conflict

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an urgent advisory to Maldivian nationals residing in or travelling through Middle Eastern countries, following the outbreak of conflict in the region.

In a statement released today, the Ministry urged all Maldivians in the Middle East to prioritise their safety and security.

Those currently in areas directly affected by hostilities have been specifically advised to minimise outdoor movement and strictly follow safety instructions and guidance issued by local authorities.

The Ministry confirmed that it is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with Maldivian diplomatic missions across the region to assess the welfare of Maldivian citizens.

To ensure that consular assistance can be provided efficiently if required, the Ministry has requested all Maldivians in the Middle East to register with their nearest Maldivian Embassy as soon as possible.
