According to the Met Office, haze is currently affecting all regions of the Maldives, with the northern and central atolls experiencing the most severe impact.

Reports indicate that visibility in certain northern islands has decreased to below two kilometres due to the prevailing conditions.

Weather projections for the coming days suggest that the haze will remain widespread across the country, potentially maintaining reduced visibility levels.

In light of these conditions, authorities have urged seafarers to take extra precautions while traveling at sea.

Individuals who spend prolonged periods outdoors have also been encouraged to prioritise their health and safety.
