Maldives President highlights enduring Maldives–Kuwait Partnership in National Day message

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed warm greetings and sincere congratulations to the leadership of Kuwait on the occasion of the country’s National Day and Liberation Day.

In separate messages addressed to  Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, and Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, the President extended best wishes on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives.

In his letters, President Dr Muizzu underscored the close and friendly relations shared between the Maldives and Kuwait, noting that the longstanding partnership is rooted in mutual respect and shared values.

He expressed confidence that the enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations would continue to strengthen in a constructive manner, contributing to the sustained wellbeing and prosperity of both peoples.

The President also conveyed his personal wishes for the continued good health and wellbeing of the Amir and the Prime Minister, as well as for Kuwait’s continued progress and prosperity.

In a post shared on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu reflected on the significant support extended to the Maldives through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

He acknowledged the Fund’s contributions to national development efforts over the years and expressed optimism that the development partnership, founded on trust and shared principles, holds strong potential for further expansion.

The President further noted that enhanced cooperation and continued commitment between the two countries would pave the way for greater mutual benefits in the years ahead.

Kuwait marks its National Day on 25 February, while Liberation Day is observed on 26 February.
