President Dr. Muizzu reaffirms commitment to strengthen Maldives–UAE cooperation

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining close collaboration with the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), underscoring the importance of further strengthening the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

The President made the remarks during a farewell call paid by Sheikh Rahma bin Abdulrahman Alshamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Maldives, at the President’s Office this morning.

During the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu expressed sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s support and engagement throughout his tenure, noting the progress achieved in advancing bilateral relations across key areas of mutual interest.

He conveyed optimism that cooperation between the Maldives and the UAE would continue to expand in the months ahead, building on the strong foundation established through sustained diplomatic engagement.

In response, the Ambassador commended the significant development and progress witnessed in the Maldives since the commencement of the current Administration, and extended best wishes for the country’s continued growth and prosperity.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to further enhancing the close and enduring ties between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates.
