A Sri Lankan expatriate employed in Feydhoo has embraced Islam, becoming the latest foreign national to convert to the faith while residing in the Maldives.

According to local reports, Jayasingha Arachchige Waruna Prabath, who works at Naya Salon in Feydhoo, formally accepted Islam and following his conversion, he adopted the name Abdullah Adam.

A video circulating on social media captures the moment of his conversion inside a mosque in Feydhoo.

The footage shows a Maldivian individual guiding him through the recitation of the Shahada the Islamic declaration of faith.

The development comes shortly after a female tourist embraced Islam during her visit to K. Dhiffushi, highlighting instances of religious conversion taking place in different parts of the country.
