Police have arrested two men from HDh. Kulhudhuffushi in connection with the grooming and sexual abuse of a 15 year old girl.

Ali Hassan (44) from Silver Star and Mohamed Ihsaan (21) from Kasthoorige face charges of sexually abusing the child.

The arrests resulted from a joint operation involving the Family and Child Protection Unit, Crime Intelligence, and the local atoll police station.

Hassan was detained on 24 December with court-ordered custody extended until 1 March.

Ihsaan was arrested on 3 February, remanded until 6 March.

Police emphasised their ongoing crackdown on grooming minors, exploiting vulnerabilities, drug-related crimes, and gang violence, vowing to pursue the maximum legal penalties for such offenses.
