President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to hold weekly press briefings every Monday morning beginning in March, alongside mandating similar sessions for all Cabinet ministers, as part of a renewed transparency drive.

He made the announcement during the Presidential Address at the first sitting of the 20th People's Majlis first session.

The President’s meetings will run from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, except during official travel, public holidays, or scheduling conflicts.

From March, each minister will also dedicate one hour weekly to press engagements, with schedules published regularly by the President’s Office.

The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to openness, with all government agencies required to disclose information upon legal request.

Last year, 93% of Right to Information (RTI) requests to the President’s Office and ministries were fulfilled, with responses underway for the remainder delayed by complex data gathering or administrative needs.

The government continues proactive information sharing through mainstream media and social platforms.
