President pays tribute to fallen heroes on Martyrs’ Day
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has paid tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes, stating that the courage and resilience shown by those who defended the country will live on eternally within the Maldivian people.
In a post shared on X to mark Martyrs’ Day, the President honoured soldiers who were martyred while defending the nation, as well as those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
He said their bravery and determination in confronting their enemies and fighting to their final breath remain a lasting source of national pride.
Marking 482 years since the martyrdom of Sultan Ali VI, President Muizzu expressed confidence that every generation will continue to produce heroes who embody the courage of Sultan Ali VI and uphold the honour and dignity of the Maldives.
The President concluded his message by expressing hope for the country’s continued independence under the abundant grace of Allah.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also marked Martyrs’ Day with a post on X, paying tribute to the heroic legacy of Sultan Ali VI and extending greetings to citizens on the occasion.
