Bangladesh annuls suspension of on-arrival visas for travellers
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the previously communicated decision to suspend the issuance of on-arrival visas for travellers to Bangladesh has been annulled.
In a statement, the Ministry clarified that the update follows an earlier travel advisory issued to Maldivians planning to visit Bangladesh around the period of the country’s parliamentary election scheduled for 12 February.
The earlier advisory had indicated that Bangladesh would temporarily halt on-arrival visa services from 15 January to 15 February as part of enhanced security measures in the lead-up to the election.
However, the Ministry has now confirmed that this decision is no longer in effect.
Accordingly, Maldivian travellers may continue to travel to Bangladesh under the existing visa arrangements, without any changes to current procedures.
For further information or visa-related enquiries, travellers are advised to contact the High Commission of Bangladesh by telephone on 3320859 or via email at [email protected]
