Government opens third round of Job Readiness Programme for people with disabilities
The government has launched the third round of the Job Readiness Programme aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, the Ministry of Social and Family Development has announced.
The programme forms part of broader government efforts over the past two years to promote inclusivity and equal access to employment for persons with disabilities.
To date, more than 350 individuals have benefited from the initiative.
The six-month training programme focuses on essential workplace competencies, including professional conduct, teamwork, disability rights, and universal job skills, to better prepare participants for entry into the workforce.
Graduates of the programme are being offered employment opportunities across various sectors through state-owned enterprises, including Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).
Applications for the programme are open via the Ministry’s official social media platforms, where application links and a QR code have been provided.
The deadline for submission is 12 January.
