The former spokesperson at the President's Office Mabrook Azeez has said that the decision to support President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was taken because he is the only leader that would fulfil a promise if a promise is made and he has the utmost confidence in his word.

Mabrook has been distant from politics after resigning from the spokesperson position.

Mabrook was the first to confirm that he supported the president without any fear or compulsion after a sudden appearance at the president's campaign rally tonight.

I support President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, I m not here because I have a job and there's nothing to gain

Said Mabrook

Mabrook went on to explain the efforts led by President Solih to save the country from the dark days of the COVID-19 crisis.

Former Spokesperson Mabrook recalled the President's efforts to combat COVID-19 and said the president understood the dangers of the disease long before the arrival of the first infection to the Maldives. Mabrook pointed out that President Solih had worked day and night as a part of a plan for two years to combat the virus and highlighted efforts made by President to overcome the economic situation.

The country overcoming the COVID-19 situation unanimously is not surprising with tourist arrivals resuming quickly in the Maldives. I can also see our neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka and Pakistan's situation today. The Maldives has been able to overcome this due to the tram effort of the president and the cabinet.

Said Mabrook

Praising President Solih, Mabrook said that the most basic feature of President Solih is that he would listen to what everyone had to say and do things based on everyone's opinion.

President Solih is a team leader. He will get involved with the team on everything. He will support everyone even through difficult

Said Mabrook

He said the introduction of free degree programmes and educating 16,000 children under President Solih was one of the most important efforts of the president to build the country's human resources. Noting that the government has given the local bodies the powers never given by the government, Mabrook said the president builds the country so that free degree students can go back to their islands and develop it according to their needs. He said the government is providing basic amenities in the islands and implementing development projects as per the requirements of the councils.
