Deputy Speaker Eva announces her desire to rule the Maldives

Deputy Speaker of the People's Majlis Eva Abdulla has declared her desire to rule the Maldives.

Eva made the remarks in an interview with "Sosal".

Speaking with the social, Eva said that the presidential system was not what she believed in and that is why she would not seek the position of President. However, Eva declared that if the nation's governing structure were altered to a parliamentary system she would seek the position of Prime Minister. 

According to the system, Prime Minister is not elected by direct vote of the people. However, Prime Minister is chosen by a vote among lawmakers. Therefore, even those who are not popular with the general public can become a prime minister. 

In Eva's interview, She praised Nasheed for his efforts in introducing many things to the Maldives over the past years. Eva said Naheed has a vision for all islands and plans for its problems. She further claimed she knows this very well.

Eva further highlighted that there was a lot of pressure in parliament every day as there were factions within the party.
