Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has reminded airport users that the seaplane passenger bus boarding bay at Velana International Airport (VIA) is reserved exclusively for authorised operations and must not be used by other vehicles.

In a statement, MACL said the designated boarding bay at Terminal 1 is allocated solely for buses operated by seaplane operators for passenger loading.

The area also includes a designated stop for MACL’s internal staff bus services.

MACL explained that seaplane buses access the boarding bay via the road in front of Terminal 1 and exit through the road adjacent to the seaplane bus boarding area, as outlined in the official traffic flow plan.

The company stressed that parking or stopping by unauthorised vehicles within the designated boarding bay, or in a manner that obstructs access to the area, is strictly prohibited, as it may disrupt seaplane bus operations.

MACL further advised all airport users to comply with instructions issued by its Estate Security personnel to ensure smooth operations and maintain safety within the airport premises.
