Human Rights Day 2025: President Dr. Muizzu reiterates commitment to dignity and peace
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to human dignity, justice, and equality as the nation joins the world in commemorating Human Rights Day 2025.
In his message, the President emphasized that human rights are the foundation of peace and sustainable development, serving as essential protections for all individuals to live with dignity and hope.
He highlighted the Maldives’ progress in advancing human rights domestically and internationally, expanding access to education, healthcare, and social protection, and strengthening legal frameworks to ensure equality and safeguard vulnerable communities.
President Dr. Muizzu noted that the Maldives remains an active advocate for human rights through its role at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), contributing to key resolutions and international discussions promoting justice and freedom.
Touching on the situation in Palestine, the President stressed that human rights cannot be upheld globally while denied to any community.
