Bridging Nations: China-Maldives celebrate Human Resource cooperation
The Chinese Embassy in the Maldives hosted a special reception on December 1 to honor the Maldivian participants of the 2025 China–Maldives Human Resources Training Program.
The event brought together more than 100 participants alongside distinguished guests.
The event was attended by Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Kong Xianhua and Additional Secretary of the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Javed Faizal.
In his address, Ambassador Kong highlighted the outcomes of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and reaffirmed China’s commitment to sharing governance experience and development expertise with the Maldives through long-running training and scholarship schemes.
He encouraged Maldivian professionals to apply the skills and perspectives gained in China to their daily work, contributing to the Maldives’ political, economic, and social development while further deepening bilateral cooperation.
Additional Secretary Javed Faizal expressed gratitude for China’s sustained support in developing Maldivian human resources and noted that such programs have become an important pillar of people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
He voiced hope that even more Maldivian talents would join upcoming training opportunities, strengthening institutional capacity and broadening mutual understanding.
Deputy Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development Zulaikha Rafeeu, MP Hon. Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim, and several other participants shared reflections on their study and training experiences in China, including exposure to economic development, management, and sector-specific courses.
The evening featured lively discussions and warm exchanges, highlighting the enduring friendship between Maldives and China.
