The telethon is taking place as Sri Lanka remains under a state of emergency following unprecedented rainfall, flooding and landslides that have displaced thousands and overwhelmed local response efforts.
Organisers emphasise that all contributions made through the boxes, bank transfers and digital channels will go directly towards life-saving humanitarian assistance, including food, shelter and essential supplies for affected Sri Lankan communities.
