Public reports 29 suspected illegal expat businesses in under two days

A total of 29 suspected unlicensed businesses operated by expatriates have been reported within just 41 hours of opening the reporting window, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has revealed.

The Economic Ministry, in an announcement published on the Government Gazette on Thursday, noted that various state institutions continue to receive information about large-scale business operations run by expatriates without the required permits.

The ministry has urged the public to report any such activities to the authorities.

In a post on X on Saturday, Minister Saeed said 29 cases were submitted within the first 41 hours and confirmed that the national taskforce formed by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will begin responding to the reports this afternoon.
