Chinese Government Scholarship 2026/2027 Now Open for Maldivian Applicants
The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) program for the 2026/2027 academic year is now open for applications, with the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives serving as the official body responsible for accepting online submissions from Maldivian applicants.
According to the Embassy, interested candidates are required to apply online via the official “Study in China” website at www.campuschina.org by February 10, 2026.
Applicants should select “Scholarship Application for Students” on the portal, submit all required documents electronically, and indicate agency number 4622 for applications through the Maldives.
The Embassy has clarified that no paper submissions are needed.
Applicants must ensure they meet the eligibility requirements for their chosen program and provide clear, authentic, and valid supporting documents.
The Embassy advises using professional scanning devices to upload materials, noting that unclear or incomplete submissions may affect the evaluation process.
Beginning from the 2026/2027 academic year, applicants seeking undergraduate admission in Chinese universities are required to take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) before applying.
A valid CSCA score report is now a mandatory requirement for scholarship consideration.
Students planning to enroll in September 2026 must register for the CSCA test sessions scheduled on December 21, 2025, or January 25, 2026.
According to embassy, detailed information on the CSCA, including registration and subject requirements, is available at www.csca.cn.
Applicants are advised to consult their target universities to confirm specific test subjects relevant to their intended major.
The Embassy also reminded prospective students to rely solely on official channels when applying.
The China Scholarship Council does not authorize any intermediaries or agents to handle applications on its behalf, and candidates are urged to avoid fraudulent third-party services.
