Azerbaijan’s national carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines, has officially commenced operations from the newly opened terminal at Velana International Airport (VIA).

A special ceremony was held by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) to mark the occasion, during which the airline’s check-in counters were inaugurated.

Passengers on the inaugural flight were warmly welcomed with traditional cultural performances and hospitality.

The event was attended by senior officials from MACL and Azerbaijan Airlines.

According to MACL, Azerbaijan Airlines is the 16th airline to begin operations from the new terminal.

Other airlines that have recently shifted their operations to the facility include Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, and Chongqing Airlines.

MACL emphasized that its goal is to deliver the highest quality and most comprehensive services to all airlines operating to and from the Maldives.
