Survey and design contract for Addu Link bridge awarded to Chinese firm

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has awarded the survey and design contract for the Hithadhoo-Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo Link Project in Addu City to Chinese company T.Y. Lin International Engineering Consulting Co. Ltd.

The agreement was signed today at a ceremony held at the Ministry.

Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muthalib signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Maldives, while Chen Xiaohu, President of T.Y. Lin International, signed on behalf of the company.

According to the ministry, the agreement entails conducting detailed surveys, preparing bridge designs, developing technical specifications, and compiling tender documents for the construction phase of the project.

The Hithadhoo-Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo Link Project is one of the key presidential pledges of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, aimed at enhancing connectivity within Addu City and promoting economic and social integration across the southern atoll.
